How it works

Four steps from install to insight.

SpectGrid is a browser-layer control: it enforces where the action happens, keeps detection local, and gives security teams the visibility to govern AI use.

1

Deploy the browser extension

Roll out the SpectGrid extension to Chrome and Edge — centrally via your device management, or unpacked for a pilot. It stays dormant until configured.

2

Define policy in the console

Choose which sites to monitor, and set rules per data type: IGNORE, WARN, or BLOCK. Adopt SpectGrid's detection patterns, add your own, and set document-classification phrases.

3

Enforce locally, at the moment of risk

The extension scans at paste and submit time, on the device. WARN holds a submission until the employee confirms; BLOCK stops it. The sensitive value is never transmitted — only redacted telemetry.

4

See everything, and tune

Review analytics (including a by-category breakdown) and the audit trail. Adjust policy as you learn what your team actually does with AI.

Why it's private

Local detection, redacted telemetry, isolated data.

Scanning runs on the device, so the credential or secret never leaves it. Only a redacted snippet and the policy outcome are stored, and each customer's data is isolated at the database level.
